Bob Jones has been elected Vice Chair of the APS Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (DAMOP) starting in June. This is a four year service commitment to the division with consecutive single year terms as Vice Chair, Chair Elect, Chair, and Past Chair.
DAMOP was founded in 1943, and was the first division of the American Physical Society. It has more than 3,000 members and is the third largest APS division, behind Condensed Matter Physics and Particles and Fields. Members are interested in the fundamental physics underlying the properties of atoms, simple molecules, electrons and light, as well as the interactions between them.
